Elliott Eley – Football (1985-88)
The first player in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yards twice in his career, Eley held the Mules’ career rushing record for 16 years before it was broken by Kegan Coleman and Lee Thompson in 2004. He still ranks third in school history with 3,323 career yards and holds the Mules’ single-season record with 1,591 yards in 1987. Eley also ranks seventh in school history in career scoring (192 points) and sixth in all-purpose yards (3,482), shares (with Coleman) the Mules single-game scoring record (and touchdown record) with five TDs and 30 points vs. Northwest Missouri State in 1988, and also shares the Mules’ fourth-highest single-season rushing total (1,215 in 1988) and the sixth-best single-season scoring total (90 points in 1988). A two-time first-team All-MIAA pick and MIAA Most Valuable Player in 1988, he was a second-team All-American in 1987 and a third-team All-American in 1988.
