UCM Athletics Internship Program

The UCM Athletics Internship program is designed to provide students of the University of Central Missouri with a wide range of field experiences within the athletic department. Opportunities include but are not limited to; communications, ticket sales, marketing, promotions and game day operations with 15 NCAA Division II Intercollegiate Athletic teams, as well as spirit organizations. To accomplish the overall goal of providing this experience, there are a few obligations that will be necessary for you to complete.

Students in the UCM Athletics Internship program will be expected to work all available home events with varying office hours to allow opportunity to work with an assortment of teams. This internship is a volunteer or for-credit position only. No monetary compensation will be awarded. The candidate(s) will work approximately 20 hours (depending on their internship hour requirements) per week inclusive of office hours and event/game hours.

The Internship offers four tracks of study, outlined below:
  • Marketing/Gameday Operations: Engaging with fans, enhancing game atmosphere, facility set up, pregame duties, etc.
  • Production: All things related to putting on live video broadcasts including camera operations, graphics, directing, etc.
  • Statistics/Sports Information: Stating games, updating record books, and intensive sports writing.
  • Creative: Graphic Design, photography, and videography.
  • Ticketing: Ticket sales, ticket scanning, seat ushering, and other customer service roles tasked 
Some of the benefits of participation in the UCM Athletics Internship Program include, but are not limited to:
  • Job experience in a top NCAA Division II athletic department
  • Exposure to NCAA Division II athletic events and job responsibilities
  • College credit with potential opportunity for advancement into positions, such as graduate assistants or full-time
  • Earned Recommendations
  • Athletic gear (when available)
