  • "Mo" the Mule is one of the most popular figures at Central Missouri sporting and community events. 
  • The student performers selected to portray "Mo" the Mule mascots will be expected to make a significant time commitment to the mascot program. The mascots are required to attend ALL Home Football and Basketball Mules/Jennies athletic events/games and on-campus appearances when classes are in session (these appearances will not be scheduled during class/testing times). The time commitment ranges from 10-20 hours per week depending on the time of year and number of appearance requests. The mascots are required to attend ALL away/home post-season football and basketball games with the Cheerleaders. There are community events that the student performers are required to attend as well. The selected student performers will follow a flexible schedule and be on a rotating schedule of who performs at the event. 
  • Practices: Mo practices with the Cheerleaders 2-3 times a month. He performs with the cheerleaders at timeouts and other community events. Mo also performs with the Mulekickers for their Christmas Dance at Basketball games. 
  • Benefits: Student performers who remain in good standing with the program will receive scholarships each semester. The student performers portraying "Mo" as a mascot receives 3 complimentary tickets for each home Football and Jennies and Mules Basketball Games they are working. Student performers have access to a medical trainer and the option to condition with the men of the UCM Cheerleading Squad. 
  • Travel Opportunities:  The mascots are required to attend ALL away/home post-season football and basketball games with the Cheerleaders. 
  • Camp: Mo attends a Summer UCA Mascot Camp with the cheerleaders. Camp cost between $250.00-$320.00 and paid by the student performer (this includes meals).
  • Expectations: The Student Performers selected as Mo the Mule are ambassadors for the University of Central Missouri and Athletic Department. The students who portray these characters must display good decision making skills in and out of the suit. Mo mascots are expected to promote crowd involvement and sportsmanship at athletic events and appearances. Attendance at monthly meetings and schedule checks, good communication skills, and dependability are requirements for being a member of the mascot program. Student performers are asked to keep their “mascot identity” a secret while they are an active member of the mascot program.

  • Tryouts: Tryouts for Mo the Mule for the 2018-2019 Season will be held on Saturday April the 7th during the Cheerleading Open Gym in the Multipurpose Building. More information about tryouts and requirements will be posted by the beginning of February 2018.
