QUINCY, Ill. – No. 5 Central Missouri Jennies Bowling advanced to the second day of the GLVC Women's Bowling Championship Friday, March 21 after going 1-1 on the day.
No. 1 Maryville and Oklahoma Christian remain undefeated after the opening day of action.Â
The Jennies, seeded No. 4, faced No. 5 Newman in their first-round match. The Jens won the traditional single-game format 979-932, but not before the Jets defeated them in the five-game baker format 933-911. The Jennies pulled away in the final leg of competition, winning the best-of-seven baker format 4-1 to secure the opening round win.
The Jennies then faced top-seeded Maryville in their second-round match. UCM went 0-2 against the Saints to drop the match, losing the traditional format 1035-915 and the baker format 970-931.
For round three, the Jennies will face No. 6 seed Lewis in the consolation bracket at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, Quincy, Ill.Â
