WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The University of Central Missouri athletic department enshrined 10 individuals and two teams into the
UCM Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday morning, Feb. 22, inside the Elliott Student Union Ballroom on the University of Central Missouri campus.
Seven former student-athletes (Mark Danner, Mules Wrestling, 1981-82, 1984-87; Steven Edwards, Mules Track & Field, 2002-06; Brad Crede, Mules Baseball, 1993-96; Garrett Fugate, Mules Football, 2013-16; Paige Redmond, Jennies Basketball, 2015-19; Annie Reilly, Jennies Volleyball, 2012-15; Jenna Stones, Jennies Soccer, 2009-12) and three special recognition individuals (Virdia Stevens, Rhonda Crews, Cliff Harris) represented the 10 individuals who were enshrined while the 2015 Jennies Soccer Team and 2016 Mules Baseball Team were also inducted into the hall of fame.
Early Era:
Mark Danner, Mules Wrestling, 142 pounds, 1981-82, 84-87
Two-time All-American at 142 pounds…Was national runner-up in 1986 and finished fifth in 1987…Compiled a 93-37-4 career record, 93 wins were tops at UCM at the time, still seventh all-time…His loss in 1986 national finals was to 1996 Olympic Silver medalist Townsend Saunders …Three-time national qualifier…Three-time team MVP…1986 Academic All-American…Vernon Kennedy Award Winner.
Modern Era:
Steven Edwards, Mules Track & Field, 2002-06
2006 National Champion in the discus…Five-time All-American, earning honors in 2005 hammer throw and indoor weight as well as 2006 discus, hammer and indoor weight…Fourth all-time at UCM in the discus, tied for seventh in the indoor shot put and 10th all-time at UCM in the indoor weight throw, and 10th in the hammer throw.
Brad Crede, Mules Baseball, Infielder, 1993-96
Member of the 1994 Mules Baseball National Championship Team…Second Team All-American at shortstop in 1995…Two-time, All-MIAA First Team honoree (1995 at short and 1996 at first base)…Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies as a first baseman in the 19th round of the 1996 MLB Draft.
Garrett Fugate, Mules Football, Quarterback, 2013-16
A third-team All-American quarterback by Dan Hansen's Football Magazine and two-time All-MIAA Second Team selection (2015 and 2016), Fugate still ranks in the top-10 in numerous Central Missouri career offensive categories…He is fifth in career total offensive yards (7,519), sixth in career passing yards (6,314) and career touchdown passes (49), and sixth in career pass completions (463)…On the UCM season record charts, Fugate is fifth in pass completions (271 in 2016), sixth in season passing TDs (31 in 2016) and season passing yards (3,655 in 2016) and sixth and ninth in total offensive yards (4,112 in 2016; 3,132 in 2015)…Threw a touchdown pass in 22 consecutive games…Second team All-Region selection by Dan Hansen's Football Magazine in 2016 and was a third team honoree in 2015…Four-time MIAA Scholar-Athlete honoree…Played professionally in the CFL for Montreal in 2017-18.
Paige Redmond, Jennies Basketball, Guard, 2015-19
Helped Jennies basketball to their second national championship in 2017-18…WBCA First Team All-American in 2017-18…NCAA Elite Eight MVP 2017-18…NCAA Elite Eight All-Tournament Team 2017-18…NCAA Central Region MVP and All-Tournament Team 2017-18…MIAA Player of the Year 2017-18…Two-time D2CCA All-Central Region First Team (2017-18, 2018-19)…Three-time All-MIAA First Team (2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19)…2016-17 D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team…Two-time WBCA Honorable Mention All-American (2016-17, 2018-19)…MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
Annie Reilly, Jennies Volleyball, Libero, 2012-15
Three-time All-American libero and second all-time at UCM and in the MIAA in career digs with 2609…Also second at UCM in career service aces having landed 220…Is the only Jenny to have ever landed a team-record eight service aces twice…One of only two Jennies to ever lead UCM four straight years in digs…Finished 127 matches with 10+ digs and 64 matches with 20+ digs…Was a two-time Academic All-District and a 2015 Academic All-American…Had a career record of 111-23 with four NCAA regional appearances and two MIAA regular season and two MIAA Tournament championships.
Jenna Stones, Jennies Soccer, Defender, 2009-12
A 2012 NSCAA Third Team All-American defender…2012 Daktronics Honorable Mention All-American as a defender…Four-time, First Team All-MIAA honoree from 2009-12 for the Jennies…Three-time, NSCAA All-Region selection… Was a member of three MIAA Regular Season (2010, 2011, 2012) and the 2011 MIAA tournament championship team…Helped the UCM defense surrender just 45 goals in 67 matches during her career…Four-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection and a two-time MIAA Scholar-Athlete honoree.

2015 Jennies Soccer Team
MIAA regular season and tournament champions. 21-2-1 overall and 9-2-0 conference record…NCAA Regional champions…Lost in penalty kicks to eventual national champions Grand Valley State in NCAA quarterfinals…Had the MIAA goalkeeper, offensive and defensive players of the year and 11 total All-MIAA selections…Earned 10 All-Region and eight All-American awards…Third in the NCAA in save percentage and fourth in goals against average…Led the MIAA in scoring offense and defense.
2016 Mules Baseball Team
NCAA Regional Champions…MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Champions…43-15 overall, 32-7 MIAA record. 4-0 at the NCAA Regional, 1-2 at the Division II World Series…Led the MIAA with a 3.74 team ERA and hit .303 with 72 home runs…10 All-MIAA selections, three All-Region selections.
Special Recognition:
Virdia Stevens
Was the longtime UCM Athletics Accountant under former UCM Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, the late Jerry Hughes…Served in her position from September of 1999 until her retirement in December of 2017…Helped manage the department's budget from both the university side and UCM Foundation side – including teams, facilities and other offices…Provided back up assistance to the office secretary and insurance clerk when needed.
Rhonda Crews
Worked under longtime former UCM Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, the late Jerry Hughes, as the UCM Athletics Secretary for 31 years…Began in September of 1987 before her retirement in January of 2018…Helped coaches, staff and student-athletes with day-to-day tasks, questions or problems.
Cliff Harris (posthumous)
Longtime University of Central Missouri Athletics supporter and Wheel Team member (Warrensburg Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Warrensburg Ford) who passed away in January 2024…Purchased Warrensburg Chrysler in 1997 before expanding his business and purchasing Warrensburg Ford in 2005…Also purchased dealerships in Marshall, Mo. (2006) and California, Mo. (2020).
