CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The No. 14 University of Central Missouri Mules wrestling team completed day one of the NWCA National Duals Friday, Jan. 10 at the UNI-Dome. They were led by No. 3 ranked Jakason Burks, No. 6 John Ridle, No. 12 Damon Ashworth, Brayden Dillow, Eli Rocha, and Torin Forsyth.

Central Missouri opened the tournament with a 23-9 loss to No. 3 Wisconsin-Parkside. No. 3 Jakason Burks earned a victory over No. 11 Shane Corrigan by a decision of 13-6 at 125 pounds while Brayden Dillow earned a victory over Jordan Blanchard by a decision of 11-4 at 197 pounds. Torin Forsyth also earned a victory in the opening dual over No. 10 Lloyd Reynolds by a decision of 6-4 at 285 pounds.

In their second dual of the day, the Mules fell to No. 11 UMary 22-14. Burks picked up a win over Mason Gutenberger by a decision of 6-2 at 125 pounds, and Eli Rocha earned a victory over Gabe Mortensen by a major decision of 9-0 at 141 pounds. No. 6 John Ridle earned a victory over Lane Ewing by a major decision of 12-2 at 157 pounds. No. 12 Damon Ashworth also picked up a win over Dante Roggio by a decision of 7-5 at 184 pounds.

The Mules will be back in action Saturday January 11, for day two of the NWCA National Duals.
