ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Central Missouri cross country teams continued their 2024 season at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20, from Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn.
The Mules finished in fifth-place out of 24 teams in the 8k race with a pair of top-20 finishes from Kipkabus, Kenya native
Cosmas Kipop (time of 25:59.6) in sixth position while senior
Cooper Palmer crossed the finish line in 20
th with a personal-best time of 26:41.9.
Senior
Luke Engel finished in 33
rd place with a time of 26:56, while junior
Alejandro Malave ran the race in 27:40.4 good enough for 57
th place and freshman
Daniel Kiprono rounded out the scoring for the Mules in 60
th with a time of 27:47.
On the women's side, the Jennies placed 21
st as a team in the 6k race highlighted by a top 60 finisher in freshman
Abigael Kimurgor who placed 58
th with a time of 24:43.2. Merriam, Kan. native
Chloee Belgum finished the race in 26:00 taking 100
th position and freshman
Clara Lackman placed 134
th crossing the finish line in 27:21.1.
Rounding out the scoring for the Jens were
Kayli Cameron (time of 29:18.8) in 153
rd and senior
Korry Davis (time of 30:55.1) in 160
th out of 324 total runners.
The Mules and Jennies continue the 2024 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Griffon Invitational hosted by Missouri Western beginning at 11:00 a.m. from the MWSU Cross Country Course in St. Joseph, Mo.
