WICHITA, Kan. -- University of Central Missouri Mules Wrestling landed the Jets in a dominate conference road win Sunday, Feb. 18. The Mules defeated the Jets 36-12 winning seven of their 10 matches. Of their seven victories, six came as bonus point victories. 

At 133-pounds, James Wright got the Mules on the board with a 16-1 techfall over Newman's Collin Creach just after the four minute mark. 

Next, 149-pound Garrett Lyons earned an 11-4 decision over Newman's Colby Schreiner, putting the Mules within one. 

With the highest score of the day, Gavin Goddard put up 22 points against Newman's Bryce Kegley at 157-pounds, earning a 22-11 major decision and giving the Mules a three point lead. 

From there, the Mules went on an unanswered 24-0 against the Jets by winning their last four matches, all by fall. 

Paul Hernandez pinned Newman's Chris Mapp in 34 seconds at 174-pounds. Next, Damon Ashworth, at 184-pounds, pinned Newman's Dane Donigian in 44 seconds. Then, at 197-pounds, Brayden Dillow pinned Newman's Erick Tomanek in one minute and 21 seconds. Finally, heavyweight Trent Strong pinned Newman's De'Leon Freeman in the second period (4:22). 

This dual wrapped up regular season competition for the Mules as they now prepare for the NCAA-II Super Region IV Tournament, which is set to take place Saturday, March 2 in Indianapolis, Ind.
