ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Central Missouri cross country teams continued their 2024 season at the MIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 26, from the MWSU Cross Country Course in St. Joseph, Mo.
The Mules finished in fifth-place out of 12 teams in the 8k race with a pair of top-15 finishes from Kipkabus, Kenya native
Cosmas Kipop (time of 24:01.9) in seventh place while senior
Cooper Palmer crossed the finish line in 13th with a personal-best time of 24:14.5.
Senior
Luke Engel finished in 31st with a personal-best time of 24:55.2, while Waynesville, Mo. native
Alejandro Malave crossed the finish line in 45
th position with a personal-best time of 25:11.98 and senior
Colton Palmer rounded out the scoring for the Mules with a personal-best time of 25:24.56 for good measure.
On the women's side, the Jennies placed ninth as a team in the 6k race paced by freshman
Abigael Kimurgor's 31
st place finish with a personal-best time of 22:44.46, plus, Merriam, Kan. native
Chloee Belgum finished in 67
th position with a time of 24:21.5 and freshman
Clara Lackman crossed the line in 79
th with a personal-best time of 25:22.54.
Rounding out the scoring for Central Missouri was sophomore
Callie Manning with a time of 27:14.03 in 84
th place while O'Fallon, Mo. native
Kayli Cameron finished in 95
th with a personal-best time of 27:14.03.
The Mules and Jennies continue the 2024 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the NCAA-II Central Regional Meet beginning at 10:00 a.m. from the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo.
