WICHITA, Kan. – Central Missouri Mules wrestling won six of 10 weight classes on its way to a 27-15 victory over the Newman Jets in an MIAA dual Monday, Jan. 31, inside Fugate Gymnasium.
The Mules (4-6, 1-2 MIAA) are scheduled to face Kentucky Wesleyan and Lindenwood Wednesday, Feb. 2, in St. Charles, Mo.
Terrell Carter-Williams picked up UCM's opening victory of the evening via a Newman forfeit at 133 pounds before
Darick Lapaglia posted a 5-0 decision over the Jets' Garrett Lange at 149 pounds, improving to 10-6 on the season, and tying the dual, 9-9, after a Newman win at 125 pounds and UCM forfeit at 141 pounds.

John Ridle continued his stellar 2021-22 season, improving to 18-3 overall after earning a 7-6 decision against Newman's Jace Fisher at 157 pounds, inching the Central Missouri advantage to 12-9. A Newman win via decision at 165 pounds knotted the dual, 12-12, but
Austin Morgan pushed the Mules back in front, 15-12, after a 3-2 decision over the Jets' JD Johnson at 174 pounds. Morgan moved to 8-10 overall with the win.
Zachary Hazen built Central Missouri's lead to 21-12 with a victory via forfeit at 184 pounds prior to the Jets tallying a win via decision at 197 to trim the Mule lead to 21-15.
Collin Braun put an exclamation point on the dual for UCM, pinning Newman's Hunter Scott 3:41 into the 285-pound bout, securing the 27-15 victory for Central Missouri. Braun improved to 2-2 in 2021-22 with the win via fall.
