EDMOND, Okla. – Central Missouri Mules wrestling's
John Ridle and
Emmett Kuntz both posted upset wins via sudden victories, but it wasn't enough, as the Mules fell at top-ranked and undefeated Central Oklahoma, 38-6, Sunday, Jan. 30, inside Hamilton Fieldhouse.
The Mules (3-6, 0-2 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Wichita, Kan., for a 7 p.m. MIAA dual vs. the Newman Jets Monday, Jan. 31.
Ridle, a sophomore from West Dundee, Ill., improved to 17-3 overall at 157 pounds after scoring a takedown on third-ranked Ty Lucas (12-1) in overtime to break a 1-1 tie and secure the 3-1 sudden victory. It was Lucas's first loss of the season.
A senior, 165-pounder from Bakersfield, Calif., Kuntz moved to 11-10 overall after taking down No. 11 Hunter Jump (17-4) in overtime to end a 4-4 stalemate and post the 6-4 triumph.
