WARRENSBURG, Mo. – John Ridle upset fifth-ranked Nebraska Kearney wrestler Jacob Wesser at 157 pounds, but it wasn't enough, as the third-ranked Nebraska Kearney Lopers turned back the Central Missouri Mules, 45-3, in a dual meet Thursday, Jan. 27, inside the Multipurpose Building.
The Mules (3-5, 0-1 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Edmond, Okla., for a 2 p.m. MIAA dual at No. 1-ranked Central Oklahoma Sunday, Jan. 30.
The 16th-ranked Ridle, a sophomore from West Dundee, Ill., used a first-period takedown and three-point near-fall to gain a 5-0 lead over Wesser and held on for the 9-3 decision. He improved to 17-3 on the season with the win.
The Lopers (9-3, 1-0 MIAA) controlled the dual, winning four matches by fall, three by tech fall and two via decision.
