Mules Fall to #6 UCO in Final Dual

EDMOND, Okla. (Feb. 16, 2020) - Central Missouri Wrestling suffered a 37-6 loss to the sixth-ranked Bronchos in their final dual of the 2019-20 season. With a victory over the Mules, Central Oklahoma clinched the MIAA Title. 

Conner Dalton and John Ridle were the only Mules to walk away with victories Sunday afternoon in Edmond, Okla. At 141 pounds, Dalton earned a 6-5 decision win over Von Gray. At 165 pounds, Ridle came out on top of a 13-11 decision win over Anthony Des Vigne. Dalton and Ridle were two of three Mules to pick up a dual victories Friday night against Newman. Dalton now posts a season record of 17-14 while Ridle is 11-10. 

In the 133 pound match, John Feeney lost a 8-4 decision to UCO's Cody Karstetter. Dakota Thevel suffered a 16-7 major decision loss to Zachary Moore at 149 pounds. Also losing by major decision was Jack Goin at 174 pounds. Gage McBride defeated the Mules freshman 9-1. At 184 pounds, Joe Brady lost a 15-0 technical fall to Tre'Vaugh Craig and in the heavyweight match, UCO's Garrett Beier defeated Chase Miller in a close 4-3 decision. 

Eighteen of the Bronchos 37 points were earned off Central Missouri wrestling open in three weight classes at 125, 157 and 197 pounds. 

Central Missouri will now prepare for the NCAA Division II Regional IV Tournament that will be held March 1 in Hays, Kan. The top-three finishers at each of the 10 weights from that tournament will qualify for the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, set for March 13-14 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
