KEARNEY, Neb. (Feb. 3, 2017)-- Second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney proved to be too much for Central Missouri, as the Lopers led the Mules wire to wire and walked away with a 38-3 dual victory at home Friday night.
Jesse Reser scored the lone win for UCM at 165 pounds.
Both the Mules (5-9, 1-4 MIAA) and Lopers were open at 125 pounds, leaving both teams scoreless to start the night. At 133 pounds,
John Feeney fell to JD Rader via a 7-2 decision, giving the Lopers an early 3-0 lead.
Nebraska-Kearney built its lead to 13-0 with back-to-back tech falls. 141 pounder Jacob Wasser scored a 16-0 tech fall over
Daide Agnew in 4:35, while
Zachary Schridde fell by way of 19-0 tech fall in 1:10.
In his second straight dual at 157 pounds,
Zane Heiter was pinned in 1:08 by Destin McCauley, giving the Lopers a 19-0 advantage at the midway point of the dual.
Reser snapped the Lopers scoring streak, scoring a 4-1 decision over Seth Harrington at 165 pounds. Reser improves to 23-5 overall and 12-1 in duals. His six decisions are second-most on the team this season.
Cole Kemna dropped at 14-4 major decision in his second straight match at 174 pounds and the Mules forfeited at 184 pounds for the second straight dual, pushing the Lopers lead to 29-3.
At 197 pounds,
Grant Sparks dropped a 7-0 decision to Trey Schlender and 285 pounder
Ben Lancaster was pinned in 49 seconds.
The Mules have one last dual remaining before traveling to the MIAA Championships. They will host No. 6 McKendree Thursday, Feb. 9, for senior night. Action for the dual will get underway at 7 p.m.
