WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Jan. 20, 2017)-- The Central Missouri Mules Wrestling team (5-6, 1-2 MIAA) will look to get back to its winning ways as they host Ouachita Baptist tomorrow (Saturday) in a non-conference dual. The dual will start at 1 p.m. in the Multi.

Central Missouri vs. Ouachita Baptist: 1-5-0
The Tigers have had the Mules number in overall matchups, 5-1. UCM's only win against Ouachita Baptist came under the direction of Head Coach

Mat Points
• The Mules are 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the MIAA entering the weekend after falling to Lindenwood at home, 41-11.
• Central Missouri will close the month of January this weekend, as they dual Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, then turn around and host the annual Roger Denker Open on Sunday.
• The Mules started the New Year winning back-to-back duals, but have dropped six of their last seven duals.
• UCM fell under .500 in combined records for the first time this season as they are 140-141 entering the weekend.
• The Mules have a season-high four wrestlers ranked in Super Region III.
Jesse Reser and
Allan Person are both ranked seventh at 165 pounds and 184 pounds, respectively, while
Bradley Irwin and
Cody Carson are ranked eighth at 141 pounds and 174 pounds,
respectively.
• Irwin and Reser both have fared well in duals this season. Irwin is 9-2 in duals, while Reser is 10-1.
•
Josh Thomson will start at 174 pounds for the Mules in replace of Carson. Thomson is 7-2 overall and 2-0 duals this season.
• After the Roger Denker Open, UCM will have nearly two weeks off before competing again. They will compete in back-to-back duals, Feb. 2 and 3, at Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney, respectively.
Scouting the Competition
Ouachita Baptist
• The Tigers are 2-9 entering this weekend's dual against the Mules. Their two wins this season came against Lyon College (Ark.) and University of the Ozarks at the Hatcher Duals, which is hosted by Ouachita Baptist.
• Ouachta Baptist is not in any specific conference, but in Super Region IIII they have faced one opponent in Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos downed the Tigers 47-3.
• Blake Clevenger is top wrestler for the Tigers with a 25-8 record overall and 9-1 dual record at 149 pounds. Clevenger is the Tigers lone All-American from last season where he finished third at the NCAA-II Wrestling Championships in the 141-pound weight class.
• Harrison Bamman (141 lbs.) and Connar Loderhose (157 lbs.) have the next best records for the Tigers at 11-6 and 12-8 respectively.
• The Tigers have competed in four tournaments this season and have a handful of placewinners. At the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ouachita Baptist finished 29th, three sports ahead of UCM who finished 32nd.
• Ouachita Baptist will stay in Warrensburg through the weekend as they will also compete in the annual Roger Denker Open that is hosted by UCM on Sunday, Jan. 22.
