WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules went 2-0 at the Comfort Inn/UCM Duals on Sunday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building. UCM beat Minot State 27-12 and the University of Mary 39-3 to run their dual meet record to 4-0 on the season.
Central Missouri picked up pins from
Frank Cagnina and
Todd Brier against Minot State as well as a
Malacai Collins win by forfeit.
Eric Mateo,
Brennan Johnson and
Joshua Ploof all recorded wins for the Mules in the dual.
Against Mary,
Malacai Collins rallied to take a late lead before pinning Hunter Menendez at 125 pounds.
Hunter Neighbors recorded a technical fall and
Eric Mateo picked up a decision to give UCM a 14-0 lead. Cagnina, ranked third in the latest Division II Wrestling poll, then beat seventh-ranked Trevor Johnson 9-4 to give UCM a 17-0 lead.
Josh Thomson picked up a major decision and Mike Boyd followed it up with a fall to put the Mules out in front 27-3. Ploof picked up his second win of the day with a 9-3 decision at 184 pounds before Brier received a forfeit.
Jacob Clark finished it off with an excitig 5-1 overtime win to give the Mules the 39-3 win.
