University of Central Missouri Athletics

As a sophomore: Thomson went 28-13 overall, and 10-4 in duals. Had a team-high 14 falls and was tied for second on the team in major decisions with three. His fastest fall came in 0:21. Thomson placed at three different tournaments including a third-place finish at the Nebraska-Kearney Open, a first-place finish at the Jimmy May-Hem Open and a fourth-place finish at the MIAA Championships. He also competed at regionals where he went 2-2.

As a freshman: Thomson went 23-15, with a 5-5 dual record. He earned All-MIAA honors, with a third place finish at the MIAA Championships. Thomson placed at a number of tournaments, taking first at the Nebraska-Kearney Open, third at the Roger Denker Open, fourth at the Simpson Invitational, and seventh at the Midwest Classic. He had the most wins by decision last season (13), and tied for second in most major decisions (5). He had  four falls, with his fastest fall at 1:00. 

Before Central Missouri: Thomson attended Maryville University before joing the Mules wrestling program. He redshirted his freshman year.  

In high school: Thomson was a four time letter winner and state qualifier, winning the state championship his senior year, and placing third the year before. He made the All-Conference team twice, the District Wrestler of the Year and won a sportmanship award his senior year. Thomson also lettered in tennis twice.
