Kelli Woodson

Kelli Woodson enters her 11th year at Central Missouri as the Head Cheerleading Coach in 2020-21
Prior to joining Central Missouri in 2010, Coach Kelli spent many years coaching at surrounding high schools. She coached at Lee’s Summit High School from 2005-2008, Blue Springs South High School from 2008-2010, and Belton High School from 2010-2011. She is a graduate and alumna of UCM’s Cheer Squad from 2002-2005. She cheered in High School at Pleasant Hill High School.
Coach Kelli is a 2005 Graduate of the University of Central Missouri, graduating with a Bachelor of Science and a Dual Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, and a Certification in Early Childhood Special Education. She has a Master’s of Science in in Curriculum and Instruction from William Woods University.
Coach Kelli is beginning her 3rd year as a Special Education Process Coordinator in the Warrensburg R-VI School District. Prior to working in Warrensburg, she worked in the Hickman Mills C-1 School District for 13 years. She taught Early Child Special Education for nine years, and was a Special Education Process Coordinator for four years at Freda Markley Early Childhood Center and Johnson Elementary in the Hickman Mills C-1 School District. During the 2017-2018 school year she was voted Teacher of the Year while being a Process Coordinator in Hickman Mills.
Although the UCM Cheerleaders are a non-competitive team, Coach Kelli has led the Cheer Squad to many trophies at camp. The squad has taken 1st place in Fight Song Competition, First Place Overall, and First Place in Side Line and Dance Competitions. The team takes pride in being able to focus on being great sideline cheerleaders and being able to give 100% focus to Game Day.
Coaching philosophy: Coaching (as a career) is to commit to: Maintaining organization and consistency. Instilling tradition, honor, commitment and pride in the team and in each other. Building a solid foundation based on trust and loyalty. It is the purpose of the UCM Cheer Squad to promote and uphold team spirit, to develop good sportsmanship by example, and to support good relations in the community.
Kelli, husband Jason and their two children, Haviland and Benjamin reside in Warrensburg with their two dogs Sheldon and Louie and two cats Tuna and Atari.
