Fourth-Ranked Jennies Soccer Mauls Hillcats Friday, 3-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Fourth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer ran its winning streak to eight matches after shutting out the Rogers State Hillcats, 3-0, in a MIAA match Friday, Sept. 30, at Soldier Field.

The Jennies (10-0-1, 4-0 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Tahlequah, Okla., for a conference match at Northeastern State (4-1-6, 1-1-2 MIAA) Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m.

Central Missouri broke through just 20 minutes into the match, gaining a 1-0 lead when Julia Kristensen scored off a pass that bounced off the crossbar from Kloee Grubb. It was Kristensen's team-high seventh goal of the season and Grubb's first assist. 

Ashleigh Martin doubled the Jenny advantage to 2-0 just 11 minutes later, corralling a pass from Emma Burden before belting a laser from about 20 yards out into the back of the net for her second goal of 2022. It was Burden's first assist of the season. 

UCM put an exclamation mark on the match in the 75th minute after Alexis Christopherson deflected a Caroline Cole free kick into the upper part of the net, making it 3-0, Jennies. It was Christopherson's second goal of the season and Cole's team-high fifth assist.

For the match, Central Missouri outshot Rogers State (4-4-3, 1-2-1 MIAA), 16-6, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.  The Jennies also took seven corner kicks while holding the Hillcats without a corner the entire match.

UCM goalkeeper Sydney Beck (10-0-1) earned her third shutout of 2022 after making four saves and surrendering zero goals in the full 90 minutes.

Morgan Martucci had a pair of shots on goal, pacing Rogers State in the contest.

Hillcat goalkeeper Tiffany Brittain (3-2-2) took the loss in goal, allowing three goals in 90 minutes with four saves.
