  • Fourth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer (7-0-1, 1-0 MIAA) is slated to wrap up its four-match homestand with a pair of MIAA matches at the South Recreation Complex against No. 12 Central Oklahoma (6-0-2, 1-0 MIAA) Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. and Newman (0-7-1, 0-1 MIAA) Sunday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m.
  • Central Missouri is coming off a 2-0-0 week, posting two comeback wins over Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri. The Jennies downed Missouri Western, 3-2, Sept. 16, before taking down Northwest Missouri Sept. 18, 2-1. 
  • Through eight matches, redshirt sophomore Caroline Cole leads UCM with six goals and four assists for 16 points and 13 shots on goal on 22 total shot attempts for a .591 shots on goal percentage. Julia Kristensen has five goals -- including three game-winners -- while Madilyn Hamline has four goals, and Lindsay Edmonds has two goals. Shyanne Best, Kloee Grubb, Macy Ruffalo, Rylie Hughes, Kate Hermelink, Greycen Erisman, Alexis Christopherson and Anna Lack have each netted one goal. Kristensen and Hamline both have three assists, Ashleigh Martin and Peyton Wagoner each have two assists, and Edmonds, Molly Ricker, Cassie Forcellini and Andree Orcutt each have one assist. 
  • Cole leads the MIAA in goals and points, and is second in assists, while Kristensen is tied for second and Hamline is tied for third in goals. Both Kristensen and Hamline are tied for third in the MIAA in assists. In the latest NCAA Division II national statistics, Kristensen is fourth in game-winning goals, while Cole is 16th in points and assists. 
  • In goal for UCM, sophomore Sydney Beck is 7-0-1 with 21 saves, one shutout and nine goals-allowed for a 1.20 goals-against average (GAA) in 675:00.
  • The Jennies lead the MIAA through eight matches in goals (25), assists (18) and points (68), and are fourth in total goals, fifth in total points and ninth in total assists in the most recent NCAA-II national rankings. 
  • Central Missouri is the preseason favorite in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • UCM moved up two spots to No. 4 in this week's United Soccer Coaches' Division II Poll.

  • Jennies soccer was voted preseason No. 1 in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2022 season.
  • UCM received 121 points and 11 of 12 possible first-place votes in the poll.
MIAA Weekly Honors Home Cookin'
  • Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 64-3-1 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 49 goals.
  • All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 204-34-9 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 141-13-8 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.
Series History
  • Central Oklahoma: Friday's contest against the 12th-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos will mark the 24th meeting in the all-time series going back to 1999. The Jennies lead the series, 13-7-3, including a 9-2-1 advantage in Warrensburg. Last season, UCM went 2-0 against UCO, downing the Bronchos in Edmond, Okla., 3-1, and in Warrensburg in the MIAA tournament, 3-2. 
  • Newman: Sunday's match vs. the Jets will be just the third meeting all-time going back to the first meeting in 2019. Central Missouri is 2-0 in the series. Last season, UCM snuck by Newman in Wichita, Kan., 1-0 in overtime. 
Welcome to the 'Burg! Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Central Missouri women's soccer head coach Lewis Theobald, now in his 15th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA, but in all of NCAA Division II.

The 10-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year has an impressive 263-39-22 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in Jennies soccer history. He brought home the program's first ever National Championship in the 2017 season.

Theobald enters the 2022 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .843 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He also is the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is sixth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.  

During his tenure, Theobald has coached 19 All-Americans and 119 All-MIAA honorees.

A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.

Central Missouri heads to Oklahoma for a pair of MIAA road matches at Rogers State Sept. 30 and Northeastern State Oct. 2.
