Hays, Kan. --Â Central Missouri Jennies softball dropped an MIAA doubleheader at Fort Hays State Friday April 15, at Tiger Stadium, falling in game one 5-3, and game two 5-1.
The Jennies (13-30, 6-14 MIAA) are slated to travel to Nebraska Kearney in an MIAAÂ twin bill Saturday, April 16, at noon in Kearney, Neb.Â
Game 1: Fort Hays State 5, Central Missouri 3
In UCM's 5-3 setback in game one,
Peyton Corrigan,
MaKenzie Cooper and
Ashlyn Cook each had doubles, leading the Jennies at the plate.Â
Kaylee Diggs (1-6) took the loss in the circle for the Jennies, giving up two earned runs on two hits with one walk in 1/3 of an inning in relief.
Loren Beggs posted a 2-for-3 performance with a double while Madison Pierce was 2-for-4 and two RBIs, leading FHSU offensively in the opener.Â
Fort Hays State's Bailey Carlson(4-5) earned the victory in relief after allowing no earned runs on two hits with one strikeout and one walk in two innings.
Game 2: Fort Hays State 5, Central Missouri 1
In Central Missouri's 5-1 loss in the nightcap,Â
Jessica Sader was 2-for-3 with the lone RBI for UCM, pacing the Jennies in the batter's box.Â
Gentry Wishard (4-7) suffered the loss in the circle for UCM, allowing four runs -- three earned -- on five hits with three strikeouts and no walks in four innings.
Adysen Burghart and Regan Curry both went 2-for-3 with doubles, leading the Tigers (20-23-1,  6-10 MIAA) offensively in game two.Â
Savanah Egger (7-10) picked up the victory in the second contest, throwing the full seven innings and surrendering one earned run on six hits with five Ks and no walks.
