Jennies Softball Splits Two Saturday in Winter Haven

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Central Missouri Jennies softball split two games in Winter Haven, Florida, Saturday, March 5, at the Diamond Plex Softball Complex, shutting out No. 22 Georgian Court, 8-0 in six innings, before falling to Minnesota Duluth, 9-6.

The Jennies (5-11) are scheduled to close out their time in Florida with two games Sunday, March 6, at 8 a.m. CT vs. Saginaw Valley and 10:15 a.m. vs. Ashland.

In the game one, 8-0 triumph over the 22nd-ranked Georgian Court Lions, Laney Killpack went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, while Abbey Fischer and Ashlyn Cook each went 2-for-3, with Fischer also collecting a double and driving in a pair of runs, leading Central Missouri at the plate.

Sadie Parks (2-3) earned the victory in the circle after tossing a six-inning, complete-game shutout and allowing five hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

In the game two, 9-6, setback to the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, Jessica Sader went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in, and Bailey Lovelace added a 2-for-4 performance with a double and RBI, pacing UCM offensively.

Kaylee Diggs (0-3) suffered the loss for the Jennies in game two, giving up four runs – two earned – on three hits with two walks and one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings of work.
