WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Central Missouri Jennies softball faltered on the final of the the Fairfield Inn and Suites Classic UCM Pod Sunday, March 20, at Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex, dropping a pair of games to St. Cloud State, 4-2 in eight innings, and 10th-ranked Augustana, 12-0 in five innings.
The Jennies (8-17, 2-2 MIAA) will look to get back on the winning track when they host a pair of MIAA doubleheader against Emporia State Friday, March 25, and Washburn Saturday, March 26, at Jennies Field.
Game 1: St. Cloud State 4, Central Missouri 2
In the opening game of the day against St. Cloud State, Central Missouri fell behind early, 2-0, before rallying to tie the game, 2-2, with runs in the third and fourth innings before succumbing to the Huskies in extra innings after SCSU scored two in the top of the eighth for the 4-2 triumph.
Makenzie McAtee went 1-for-3 with a double while
Aubrie McRoberts and
Jessica Sader drove in UCM's two runs, pacing the Jennies at the plate in the opener.
Reliever
Kyleigh Lay (4-4) suffered the loss in the circle for Central Missouri in game one, allowing two runs -- one earned -- on three hits with one strikeout and no walks in three innings.
Haley McFarlane went 2-for-4 with a homer and double and compiled two RBis, leading St. Cloud State (13-9) offensively.
Trinity Junker (5-4) earned the win for the Huskies after giving up two earned runs on four hits with seven Ks and zero walks in an eight-inning, complete-game.
Game 2: No. 10 Augustana 12, Central Missouri 0
Game two saw the 10th-ranked Augustana Vikings race out to a 5-0 advantage after the second inning and never look back on their way to the 12-0, five-inning shutout of the Jennies.

Peyton Corrigan each had one of the Jennies' three hits in the game, leading UCM offensively.
Gentry Wishard (2-4) suffered the setback in the circle for Central Missouri, surrendering five runs -- two earned -- on four hits with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
Mary Pardo went 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored, and Torri Chute went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, a homer and pair of runs driven in, pacing the Vikings (16-5) in game two.
Augustana's Ashley Mickschl (6-1) earned the win after throwing four scoreless innings and allowing just three hits with three Ks and zero walks.
