No. 24 Jennies Volleyball Sweeps Hornets on Senior Night

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 24 Central Missouri Jennies (19-10, 14-6) swept the Emporia State Hornets (4-25, 1-19) 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-13) inside the Multipurpose Building to conclude the regular season.
 
Thanks to a pair of 6-2 runs, UCM jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Leading 9-7 in the third set, the Jens went on a 9-2 run en route to a sweep.
 
Central Missouri was led offensively by middle blocker Jenna Schulte (one block and one kill) and outside hitter Grace Southern (three blocks and one dig) each recording a match-high nine kills. Redshirt junior Kersti Nix (seven digs and one block) and freshman Rachel Ziesman (two blocks) both added six kills respectively.
 
Libero Grace Winkelmann paced UCM defensively with a team-high 10 digs, while setter Olivia Olson recorded a match-high 33 assists.
 
Redshirt senior Rylie Barnum concludes her career inside the Multipurpose Building with six digs in the victory.
 
The Jens return to the court on Thursday, Nov. 10, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 MIAA Volleyball Championship as they take on Pittsburg State inside the St. Joseph Civic Arena beginning at 2:30 p.m.
