Jennies and Hillcats End in Draw

CLAREMORE, Okla. (Oct. 6, 2019) - Central Missouri's six-game winning streak came to an end after the Jennies double overtime match against Rogers State ended in a 0-0 draw. With unideal weather conditions, the game was really windy with some rain in the first half. 

How it Happened
• The Hillcats out shot the Jennies 10-4 through the first half. 
• Jennies keeper Lindsey Johnson had two crucial saves in the first 45 minutes to keep the Hillcats from gaining a lead. 
• UCM dominated the second-half offense, outshooting Rogers 15-2. 
• One-third of the Jennies second-half shorts were in the final five minutes. 
• The Jennies defense held the Hillcats to two shots in the 20 minutes of overtime.
• Wind was in favor of RSU in first half and UCM in second half, and then the same in overtime.
• Through 110 minutes of play, UCM out shot Rogers 23-14.

Leading the Jennies
Kassie Newsom and Makayla Toth were the driving force for UCM's offense. 
• Newsom lead the Jens attack with six shots.
Macy Ruffalo recorded five shots and the team-high of three shots on goal.
• Toth and Nayeli Gallo each recorded three shots. 
• Jennies keeper and MIAA Goalie of the Week Lindsey Johnson recorded eight saves, a new season-high.

For the Hillcats
• Kori Watters and Hannah Mushisky lead Rogers with four shots, while Watters finished with the team-high of three shots on goal.
• Hillcats keeper ReVella Fisher recorded 10 saves, also recorded a new season-high. 

News and Notes
• This was first ever match-up between UCM and Rogers State. 
• The last time the Jennies tied was last season in a 2-2 2OT match against Missouri Southern.
• The No. 7 Jennies are now 8-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the MIAA.

UCM returns to Jennies Field for week 6 as they host Newman and No. 14 Central Oklahoma in two MIAA match-ups. Friday's game against Newman is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Warrensburg.
