EDMOND, Okla, (Oct. 12, 2018) - No. 16 Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball dropped a tough five-set match with No. 17 Central Oklahoma Friday night, 3-2 (25-18, 19-25, 26-24, 15-25, 16-18). The loss puts the Jennies at 16-6 this season and 6-4 in the MIAA.

How it Happened
• The Jennies hit five more kills than the Bronchos, 66-61, but also had nine more attack errors, 30-21. UCO hit .211 for the match while the Jennies were below .200 at .176.
• UCM also gave away points with 11 service errors to three aces while the Bronchos also hit three service aces, but committed just six serving errors.
• Defensively, the Jennies landed 11 blocks to the Bronchos nine, but UCO picked up 93 digs to the Jennies 87.
• Four of the five sets were incredibly close and two decided by just two points in extra points.
• The first frame saw the Jennies score the first three points, getting two kills from Aubree Bell. UCO was able to take their largest lead of the set, 11-8, helped out by a 4-0 run. Still leading 15-14, the Jennies took over, scoring four straight points with three kills, and reclaiming a lead they never gave back. UCM ended set one on an 11-3 run, including scoring the final four points with kills from Audrey Fisher, Hannah Engelken and Kylie Hohlen and a service ace from Fisher.
• UCM again jumped out to a quick lead in set two, 4-0. They held a lead all the way to 18-17. UCO took their first lead at 19-18 and tied the match by scoring eight of the final nine points for a 25-19 win.
• Set three was a series of runs for both teams, with the Jennies coming out on top in the end. UCO built a five-point lead, 15-10, before the Jennies scored five straight to tie. The Bronchos regained the lead, 17-15, before the Jennies again went on a 5-0 run and took a 20-17 lead. Seemingly in control, 22-18, Central Oklahoma stormed back with four straight to tie. Still tied at 24, the Jennies took a 2-1 match lead with a kill from Hohlen and block from Engelken and Neigenfind.
• The fourth set was the outlier of the five as the Bronchos ran away after a close beginning. The set was tied at eight, but the Bronchos scored five straight and never looked back. They won the set by 10, 25-15 to force a fifth set.
• Once again, the Jennies took an early lead, 3-0 and forced a UCO timeout. The Jennies still led by three, 7-4, when the Bronchos scored four straight to take their first lead, 8-7. From that point, the teams went back and forth, with neither gaining more than a one-point lead. A kill from Neigenfind gave the Jennies match point, 14-13, but that's as close as they came. The Bronchos took the advantage on points 15, 16, 17 and won it, 18-16.

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Kylie Hohlen put together a nice match with 16 kills and 23 digs, both team-bests.
• Rylee Neigenfind and Audrey Fisher each added 13 kills. Neigenfind finished a dig shy of a double-double.
• Ally Offerdahl passed out 56 assists to go along with nine digs.
• Carly Offerdahl finished with 22 digs while Abby Skrastins had 10.
• Hannah Engelken scored 12 kills and eight blocks. 
• Aubree Bell chipped in eight kills and eight digs.

 For the Bronchos
• Taylor Bevis led the Bronchos with 15 kills and added 18 digs.
• Dominique Lipari had a game-high 27 digs. She also landed two service aces.
• Jordan Spence scored 11 kills and five blocks.
• Ericka Scholl passed out 24 assists while McKenzie Fyfe added 22 more.

News and Notes
• This is the first time all season the Jennies have lost back-to-back matches.
• UCM is 4-5 this season against ranked opponents.  
• Kylie Hohlen reached 1800 career digs and Carly Offerdahl picked up her 900th.
• The Jennies go to 3-4 against the Bronchos since 2015.
• In five-set matches, the Jennies are now 3-2 this season.
