No. 2 Jennies Soccer Gets Back to Winning Ways with a 2-0 Shutout over No. 19 Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (Oct. 9, 2016)--The second-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer team got back to their winning ways with a 2-0 shutout win over 19th ranked Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon. Central Missouri improves 10-1 overall and 4-1 in the MIAA.

Senior Hannah Pyle scored both goals for the Jennies. In net, junior Ana Dilkes collected six saves and pitched her 10th shutout of the season. Dilkes has posted shutouts in every game she has won this season.

The Jennies got on the board in the 28th minute when Pyle nailed her shot from inside the box off an assist from redshirt sophomore Jada Scott to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Scott's assist puts her at four on the season.

The Jennies added to their lead in the second half with a second goal inside the box from Pyle in the 74th minute. This time Pyle got help from junior Mikala Modiri who notched her first assist of the season.

Pyle's two goals give her four on the season, 29 for her career, and bumped her career point total to 71. She moved into seventh all-time in program history in points.

Offensively, the Jennies took 11 total shots and seven shots on goal.

Defensively, the Jennies bounced back after allowing two goals on Friday Night at Central Oklahoma. Northeastern State entered Sunday's match with the highest scoring offense in the MIAA averaging 2.55 goals a game with 28 goals scored and 20 assists.
