DURANT, Okla. -- Jennies softball (3-3) dropped two games to the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm (8-3) Sunday afternoon at the SEOSU Softball Field in Durant. The Jens fell in the first game 6-2 and then came up short in game two, 2-1.
The Jennies fell behind early in the first game after the Savage Storm plated three runs in the bottom of the first to go up 3-0 on the strength of Whitney Hamilton's two-run single and another RBI single by Lacie Cook.
The Jens answered in the top of the second, scoring a run on a Savage Storm throwing error to cut into the lead.
Ali Jo Rogers then singled to score
Katie Cothran, bringing the Jennies back to within one of Southeastern Oklahoma, 3-2. That would be all the scoring for the Jennies though the remainder of the game.
The Savage Storm added another run in the bottom of the third on a single from Larmie Beal to increase their lead to 4-2.
Southeastern Oklahoma plated two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-2.
The Jennies out hit the Savage Storm in game one 10-9 but stranded 10 on base.

The Jens hung on to the 1-0 lead until the bottom of the seventh when the Savage Storm's Beal hit a solo home run to knot the game up at one. Southeastern Oklahoma then got the game-winning run on a single by Jessica Simmons.
The Jennies were out hit in game two, 6-5, and left five runners on base.
The Jennies will look to bounce back when they travel to Bentonville, Ark. Friday thru Sunday to take part in the Arkansas-Monticello Tournament. The Jens will open the tournament Friday with games against Henderson State and Southern Arkansas.
