A look back at last week:

Mules wrestling posted a 28-13 victory at Benedictine last Thursday in their first dual meet of the young season before traveling to Indianola, Iowa Saturday where they placed fourth at the Simpson Invitational and had five place-finishers.
The week ahead:

Mules wrestling travels to Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo. Thursday for a 6 p.m. dual meet with the Red Dragons and also Arkansas Baptist College at a to-be-determined time before trekking west to Wichita, Kan. Sunday to take part in the Newman Jet Invitational.
Series history:
When the Mules battle Wentworth Military Academy Thursday in Lexington, it will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs. 

When the Mules face Arkansas Baptist College Thursday at Wentworth Military's Wikoff Athletic Center it will also be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Last week by weight:

125 pounds: Mules freshman Laramie Allembaugh began his wrestling career at Central Missouri with a bang, winning his bout at Benedictin by a 9-6 decision which helped the Mules to a 28-13 victory over the Ravens before placing second at the Simpson Invitational Saturday, going 3-1 for the tournament. Allembaugh started off his run to second place in the second round after receiving a round one bye. There he faced Truman's Jabez Zinabu and won the match after a pin (1:13) to advance. Allembaugh's next opponent was Max Malave of Division I South Dakota State. Allembaugh claimed victory after a 7-2 decision to place him in the semifinals. Robert Boesch of Wartburg College was Allembaugh's semifinal opponent. The freshman from Cleveland, Oklahoma made quick work of Boesch, rolling to an 8-1 decision to place him in the championship match against Coe's Jared Parvinmehr. In a hard fought match, Allembaugh came up just short of claiming the title, finishing on the short end of a 10-7 decision to finish second. 

133 pounds: Mules junior transfer Anthony Henely won his bout against Benedictine Thursday via an 18-3 tech fall before going 4-1 at 133 Saturday at the Simpson Invitational to help the Mules to a fourth place finish.

141 pounds: Mules sophomore Ty Balty, who wrestled up two weights at Benedictine Thursday due to an injury in the Mules lineup, put up a valiant effort in hist bout Thursday, coming up just short of pulling off the upset by a 12-14 decision. Saturday Balty wrestled at his normal 125, going 1-2 on the day.

149 pounds: Mules redshirt-junior Nick Viterisi won his bout in the Benedictine Dual Thursday by major decision before placing third at the Simpson Invitational Saturday. Viterisi claimed third after advancing to the 149 pound championship bracket semifinals where he fell to drop him into the consolation semifinals. Viterisi battled Wartburg's Brandon Welter and came away with the 3-2 decision, earning him a spot in the third place match where he defeated Grand View's David Kellogg via a 7-2 decision. He went 4-1 for the tournament Saturday.

157 pounds: Mules freshman Michael Boyd fell in his bout at Benedictine Thursday via a 5-2 decision before going 0-2 Saturday at the Simpson Invitational.

165 pounds: Mules sophomore transfer Ty Loethen won his bout in the Benedictine dual Thursday, pinning the Raven's Hunter Stalford. Marcus Sundee handled the 165 duties at the Simpson Invitational Saturday, going 1-2.

174 pounds: Mules junior transfer Joshua Ploof fought hard in his bout at Benedictine Thursday, but fell in overtime by a 5-3 decision before going 1-2 at the Simpson Invitational Saturday.

184 pounds: Mules junior Todd Brier won the 184 bout at Benedictine Thursday by fall before placing sixth at the Simpson Invitational Saturday with a 3-3 record.

197 pounds: Mules freshman Benjamin Boyd fell in the 197 bout at Benedictine Thursday via a 12-0 major decision. The Mules did not have a wrestler at 197 Saturday at the Simpson Invitational.

285 pounds/HWT: Mules junior transfer Tim Tuaquoi won the 285 bout at Benedictine Thursday by a 7-0 major decision before placing third Saturday at the Simpson Invitational. 
Tuaquoi placed third after falling in the semifinals of the 285 pound bracket. He faced Concordia's (Neb.) Frank Ayala in the consolation semifinals and advanced to the third place match on a 8-3 decision. The junior from Yahanna, Ohio came away with a 7-4 decision over Wartburg's Benjamin Nagle to claim third place and finish with a record of 4-1. Mules freshman heavyweight Nolan Smith placed fifth at the Simpson Invitational Saturday, finishing with a record of 4-2. 
A look ahead to next week:

The Mules will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for their final event before the holiday break, the Midwest Classic, Sunday, December 16th and Monday, December 17th.
