No. 9 Jennies dominate in 3-0 win over Drury
(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Senior Allie Huffman led the Jennies with 16 kills, while Paula Harris collected 12 kills with six total blocks, as the Central Missouri Jennies roll in a straight set win over Drury, 25-12, 25-11, 25-15. The Jennies had only four attack errors through the whole match, hitting for a .449 average.
Central Missouri never allowed the Panthers to gain any momentum, jumping out to big leads early in the first two sets. Drury snuck out to a 4-3 lead in the third set, but that was quickly snuffed out with a five point run, highlighted by a pair of service aces from Taylor Krejci. Krejci finished the match with four aces, her highest total since recording five aces against Northern Michigan in the opening week of the season.
Defensively, senior Kelsey Ortwerth led the Jennies with 14 digs, followed by Krejci with 11 and Jamie Haworth with 10. The Panthers were held to just a .175 hitting percentage, and did not record a block in the match.
The Jennies improve to 7-3 with the win, and will close out the homestand on Tuesday, as they host Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m. Central Missouri will look to stay perfect in MIAA play, after defeating Pittsburg State in the conference opener last week.
